I have studied economics in my lifetime. My time in secondary school is probably largely irrelevant given the nature of teachers and ability to absorb a new dry concept at that age. In my second degree I did have some courses and great hunger to learn, based on reading and “not getting” content in The Economist magazine, but there again the instructors made the whole topic insanely dry, mathematical and just plain dull. So, it does seem incredibly strange to be so interested STILL in the topic. However, these days I do have youtube and a full selection of generative AI tools to help me understand.

More to come, but for now, I think its useful to just look at and understand the great variety of schools of economics thought, from orthodox to heterodox (new word for me today) models, including a funky crossover with a religion (!), and a tasty desert that makes me think of Homer Simpson
